Spotted Zebra Raises €8.8 Million to Address the Global Skills Crisis with HR Tech

London-based HR tech company Spotted Zebra has raised €8.8 million in a Series A funding round, with Nauta Capital leading the investment. This round also saw participation from Act VC, as well as existing investors Playfair Capital and Entrepreneur First. Spotted Zebra's workforce management platform enables large enterprises to identify and address skills gaps within their workforce, whether through hiring, succession planning, or reskilling existing employees.

The skills crisis, as highlighted by the World Economic Forum, is a significant challenge in today's workplace. Rapid changes in roles and skill requirements have created shortages, with 77% of businesses reporting skills gaps. Spotted Zebra's platform aims to match individuals with opportunities based on their skills, reducing reliance on traditional job requirements and providing more accurate indicators of role success.

The funding will support Spotted Zebra's expansion into different fields and markets, the recruitment of new talent, and the enhancement of its product suite. The company's goal is to align 10 million people with opportunities at leading employers by 2030.

Founded in 2020, Spotted Zebra has already gained recognition for its work with FTSE100 companies and its innovative approach to addressing the skills gap, which not only enhances hiring and reskilling outcomes but also promotes fairness, diversity, and social equity in the workforce.
