Raffolux and UKTV Ventures close an airtime-for-equity agreement worth £1.5 million
Today, digital raffle operator Raffolux has revealed a £1.5 million investment through an 'airtime-for-equity' deal with UKTV Ventures, a media company. Raffolux provides a platform for thousands of people to participate in digital raffles, allowing them to win prizes and support their chosen charities. To date, the company has awarded over £11 million in prizes to more than 65,000 winners and has raised over £600,000 for charities nationwide.
UKTV Ventures, part of UKTV, operates as an investment fund for startups, offering them the chance to access the TV advertising market in exchange for a minority stake in their business. This innovative approach is known as 'airtime-for-equity.' In this deal, Raffolux gains access to an audience of over 26 million viewers each month, while UKTV Ventures secures an equity stake in Raffolux.
Gerry Lianos, Co-founder of Raffolux, expresses enthusiasm about the partnership with UKTV Ventures, seeing it as an opportunity to elevate the brand and continue supporting charity partners. Brendan Kilcawley, Director of UKTV Ventures, anticipates that the power of TV advertising will enhance brand awareness and drive growth for Raffolux, and looks forward to the collaboration over the coming year.
