Klu, based in London and San Francisco, has successfully raised £1.6 million in a pre-seed funding round, with Firstminute Capital taking the lead and participation from renowned venture capital firms like a16z, Sequoia Capital, Craft Ventures, and Atomico. In addition, angel investors from Superhuman, IBM, Productboard, and other leading tech companies contributed to this funding. The newly acquired capital will be used to advance Klu's mission of empowering AI engineers and teams, offering an integrated suite of products for rapid development and optimization of AI applications powered by large language models like GPT-4.

Founded in 2022 by Stephen M. Walker II (CEO) and Stefan Sabev (CTO), Klu has quickly gained traction since launching its closed beta in March. It has been serving over 500,000 requests weekly and boasts an impressive average weekly growth rate of 10%. Klu's client base primarily consists of B2B SaaS companies, including Colab, Zavvy, and Productlane. The platform addresses the evolving landscape of AI-powered software development, enabling the swift deployment of AI-based workflows for knowledge workers.

Klu offers a range of tools to streamline AI app development, including Klu Studio for prototyping, Klu Engine for accessing leading AI models like GPT-4 and Llama 2, Klu Eval for AI-powered evaluations, and Klu Optimise for continuous improvement based on real-world usage data. Klu's optimized solution enables businesses to deploy, observe, and fine-tune advanced AI features in under 10 minutes, reducing the time it would traditionally take.

The platform supports all major large language model (LLM) providers and offers seamless data source connections. Customers can easily integrate Klu-created LLM apps with various partners, including Salesforce, Atlassian, Supabase, and more. Klu's focus goes beyond development, as it provides ongoing observability and evaluation insights for AI engineers to continually enhance their features and prompts.
