Albion Capital Raises £60M for UK Startups Expansion

London-based independent alternative investment firm Albion Capital raised an oversubscribed £60 million across its venture capital trusts to support the expansion of UK startups.

With this investment, Albion Capital will be able to continue investing in high-growth businesses in the UK, specifically focusing on B2B technology, healthcare, and deeptech possibilities.

This fundraising will provide crucial growth capital for the young and innovative businesses Albion supports. The current VCT portfolio includes about 65 enterprises across the UK, employing over 5,000 people, such as Quantexa, Proveca, and Egress.

Variable contract trusts (VCTs) continue to be a popular long-term investment option due to their strong tax advantages and historically strong long-term performance, making them a significant opportunity to invest in future software and healthcare companies.
