Female-Led AI Design Firm Recraft Raises £9.44M Series A Funding

Recraft, a female-led AI design firm based in London, recently closed a £9.44 million Series A funding round. The company is reshaping the design industry with generative AI and vector graphics, drawing attention and amassing over 300,000 members in just eight months since its establishment.

Leading the Series A funding round are Nat Friedman, the former CEO of GitHub, and Khosla Ventures. Recraft aims to create a proprietary model, called the Foundation Model, to improve the quality of AI-generated imagery, setting itself apart in the industry.

Recraft specializes in giving customers unmatched control over generative AI, enabling end-to-end content development, style controls, and vector picture creation. With the launch of the Foundation Model, users can expect features such as managing style using visual aids, groups of pictures or icons, and graphic designs incorporating text and images.

According to founder and CEO Anna Veronika Dorogush, Recraft was developed to satisfy the demands of the professional design world, focusing on producing style-consistent pictures and excellent vector illustrations fit for various applications, from iconography to digital marketing assets and advertising.
